Police: Hamden Man Sent Sexually Explicit, Vulgar Photos and Messages to 15-Year-Old

The 30-year-old Hamden man is now facing risk of injury charges.

A 30-year-old Hamden man sent "sexually explicit photographs and vulgar messages" to a 15-year-old girl last summer over a social media network, according to Hamden Police.

Last week Ryan Kiekel, 30, of 775 Mix Avenue, Hamden, was charged with risk of injury to a minor, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.

The investigation began last July, when police got a report of suspicious activity, Smith said.

"Investigation revealed that a 15 year-old female Hamden resident received a sexually explicit photograph and vulgar messages from a 30 year-old man. The photograph and messages were delivered to her on the computer, via a social networking site," Smith said in a release Tuesday.

Detective Scott Levenduski investigated and determined that Kiekel was responsible, Smith said, and an arrest warrant application was submitted to the court for Kiekel’s arrest.
