Police: Naked Man Traumatizes Elderly Woman

A Hamden man is charged with appearing in the buff to an elderly woman after using her bathroom earlier this year.

The man, Wayne Tullis, 50, lives in the Hamden Housing Authority complex at  33 Woodruff St., according to Hamden Police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. In February, he allegedly asked his 84-year-old neighbor if he could use her bathroom, Smith said.

Tullis "emerged 20 minutes later, completely naked and laughing," Smith said.

"The elderly resident, who was traumatized by the incident, filed the complaint after getting assistance of a social worker," Smith said.

Tullis was charged with public indecency and disorderly conduct. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on Oct. 16.

Officer Joseph Liguori conducted the investigation, Smith said.
