Restaurant Week Announced In Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden’s 10th annual Restaurant Week will take place from Monday, Sept. 21 through Saturday, Sept. 26, the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce and presenting sponsor Bankwell announced in a news release.

“We are delighted to work with Bankwell again,” Hamden Regional Chamber President Nancy Dudchik said. “This is the fifth year that Bankwell has partnered with the Chamber to sponsor this important annual event. Ten years ago, when we launched Hamden Restaurant Week, we never would have expected it to grow as much as it has. With so many different restaurants offering unique options, this week has become a yearly destination for people, from all over the state, to come and experience Hamden’s local eateries. Now is the time when these local businesses need our support. If there was ever a year to come out and enjoy fine dining, it’s this year.”

Lucy French, vice president and marketing manager at Bankwell, said: "We are excited to once again take part in supporting this wonderful community event. It’s a great opportunity for people to discover a new restaurant or revisit an old favorite for great prices and deals in our own backyard.”

Restaurant Week is open to any restaurant or eatery in Hamden. Participating restaurants must agree to offer either a $9 to $15 prix fixe lunch, a $20 to $35 prix fixe dinner (or both), or a buy-one-get-one-free option.

Organizers also announced another layer to Restaurant Week that supports and celebrates Hamden small businesses.

Local businesses can participate in the new “Show Us Your Receipt” Discount Program. Anyone who dines during Restaurant Week (Sept. 21 to Sept. 26) can turn their receipt in for a special discount at a local business during that week. Contact the chamber office to sign up.
