SNL Star Pete Davidson Performing Twice In Hamden

HAMDEN, CT — Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson will be in Hamden for two shows at Space Ballroom on Treadwell Street later this month. After tickets quickly sold out for the show on July 27, Davidson added a late show for 10 p.m. (also on July 27), Space Ballroom recently announced.

Davidson made headlines in April when he walked out of stand-up comedy show at the Stress Factory Comedy Club in Bridgeport after feeling disrespected by the owner's mentioning of his exes Ariana Grande and Kate Beckinsale.

"The owner Vinnie Brand disrespected me and did something I told him not to do and I can't perform under those circumstances," Davidson said in a video he posted to Instagram shortly after leaving. He also promised to do a free show for those that purchased tickets to see his routine. Davidson reportedly felt Brand was being sarcastic when he told the audience not to heckle him over his past relationships.

Brand later apologized to Davidson for the announcement, saying there was “no malice in my intent nor was there any attempt at humor.”

Davidson, 25, is the youngest member of the current cast, as well as the first “SNL” cast member to be born in the 1990s. Davidson, who is returning for his fifth season on “SNL,” shot his first one-hour stand up special for Comedy Central in 2016 and was named one of Forbes’ 2016 “30 Under 30.” He made headlines as one of the featured comedians on the 2015 Comedy Central “Roast of Justin Bieber.”

Davidson can be seen in the Netflix comedy “Set It Up,” the independent film “Big Time Adolescence” and Paramount Players’ “What Men Want.” Most recently, he was in Netflix’s Mötley Crüe biopic “The Dirt.”
