The National Weather Service has just issued a Special Weather Statement for inland sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Special Weather Statement for tonight and Sunday for inland sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties.

"A brief period of freezing rain is possible tonight into Sunday afternoon, especially across eastern Passaic and northern Bergen, Fairfield, New Haven, Rockland and Westchester counties. Any ice can cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for the possibility of slippery roads and locally reduced visibilities...and use caution while driving," the NWS says.

Rain likely. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Northeast wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
