Student Spotlight: Achievements of Hamden Residents

Highlighting the academic achievements of Hamden residents.

This fall, Taylor Stalsworth of Hamden was admitted to Colby-Sawyer College as a first-year student. The college welcomed approximately 430 first-year students to its 2017 graduating class.

Joseph Presnick , a resident of Hamden, received a Bachelor of Science during the Roger Williams University's Commencement ceremony held in May.

St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York, welcomes the following Hamden residents as members of the class of 2017:

Jamie M. DeNicola of Hamden. DeNicola graduated from Hamden Hall Country Day School.

Audrey R. Milazzo of Hamden. Milazzo graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall.

Robert Emmet of Hamden has been named to the Dean's List at Carleton College. Emmet is the son of William Emmet and Anne Emmet. A member of the class of 2016, Emmet attended Hopkins School. The Dean's List is compiled each summer and is drawn from the top ten percent of the previous year's first-year, sophomore, and junior classes.

Silas W. Newman of Hamden enrolled at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, this fall. Before classes began, Newman took part in an orientation that included an introduction to Colby's rigorous academics, rich cultural life, and community involvement opportunities as well as a three-day outdoor excursion. A graduate of Hamden Hall Country Day School, Newman is the son of Roberta Napolitano and Peter Newman of Hamden.

Rebecca Palmarozza, Nichols College Class of 2014 and a resident of Hamden, has received a Teaching Assistant position for the 2013-2014 academic year. Teaching Assistants aid the professor in the organization and scheduling of lessons, as well as help students in and outside of the classroom.
