Teen, 17, Arrested After Crashing Stolen Vehicle: Hamden Police
The teen was arrested after trying to run away from police, according to officials.
HAMDEN, CT — A 17-year-old New Haven resident was arrested Wednesday after crashing a stolen vehicle into a fence, according to police.
Officer Ronald Glifort saw a suspicious vehicle in the area of Pine Rock Avenue around 1:30 p.m. A computer search showed that it had been reported stolen, according to police Capt. Ronald Smith.
The driver tried to elude police and then lost control of the vehicle, drove up an embankment and struck a chain-link fence, according to Smith. He was arrested by Glifort after a foot chase, Smith said.

The 17-year-old was charged with second-degree larceny, interfering with a police officer, reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle without a license. He is scheduled to appear in New Haven Juvenile Court on March 19.
