Tornado Confirmed To Have Hit Hamden: National Weather Service
The National Weather Service pinpointed where two tornadoes were found in Connecticut during Tuesday's powerful storm.

HAMDEN, CT — After a day of review, the National Weather Service concluded late Wednesday night that a tornado touched down in Hamden on Tuesday. A tornado was also confirmed to have hit Southbury and Oxford. After heavy storms pummeled parts of Connecticut on Tuesday, the National Weather Service sent a team of experts to check on the following towns including: Brookfield, Danbury, New Milford, Newtown, Oxford, Ridgefield, Southbury, Winstead, Bethany, Hamden, Cheshire and Durham.

The National Weather Service office in New York, New York has completed a preliminary survey for the area between Beacon Falls and Hamden.

It has been determined that an EF1 tornado with estimated peak winds of 110 mph moved along a 9.5 mile path between Beacon Falls and Hamden. Numerous trees were uprooted along this path.
A final assessment including results of other surveys being conducted today is expected to be completed and transmitted via a Public Information Statement on Thursday.
