Two Hamden Teens Charged After Shots Fired Sunday
The gun turned out to be a BB gun that looks like a real firearm, according to police.

Two Hamden teens were arrested early Sunday morning after police received a report of shots fired in the area of Woodin Street.
Hamden Police received the report at about 12:15 Sunday morning, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith.
"A search of the immediate area led to the discovery of a 4.5mm bb gun," Smith said in a release Monday. "The weapon, which was located on the ground, near a Woodin Street residence, was a replica of a standard firearm."

Officers then saw two teens "emerge from the backyard of a local residence," Smith said. Police believe one of the teens is the owner of the BB gun, he said.
Both of the teens, who are both 17 years old, were arrested, Smith said. One was charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and simple trespass. The other was charged with breach of peace and interfering with a police officer.
