1990s Manchester Murder Focus Of Investigation Discovery Episode

MANCHESTER,CT — An infamous 1990s murder involving workers at the local Walmart will be the focus of an upcoming episode of the Investigation Discovery series, "The Killer Beside Me."

The segment is slated to air at 9 p.m. on June 19.

A news release touts the series as one that “exposes the dark underbelly of workplace evil, where rivalry, romance and the abuse of power culminates in murder." It also poses the question, "How well do you really know your co-workers?"

That was arguably a question investigators pondered when looking into the 1996 murder of 54-year-old Gayle Isleib with a small-caliber gun.

Investigators turned to 25-year-old Tyrone Montgomery as a person of interest in the case. He worked with Isleib at Walmart and, according to case records, became angry when Isleib did not reciprocate to his advances.

Montgomery sentenced to 65 years in prison following a murder conviction in 1997, according to judicial system records.
