3-Year-Old Rescued After Walking Into Pond In Manchester

Police said a toddler was pulled out of a pond after wandering into the water Thursday.

MANCHESTER, CT — Bystanders rescued a 3-year-old child who walked into a pond in Manchester Thursday afternoon, police said.

The child, who is autistic, was witnessed walking into the water at about 12:30 p.m. near the 700 block of Vernon Street, police said.

Witnesses saw the girl fall in and she was quickly taken out of the water unharmed, police said.

The child's mother was located and the child was taken to Connecticut Children's Medical Center as a precaution, police said.
