56-Year-Old Charged With Murder In Manchester Stabbing Case

A Hartford man is facing a murder charge in the stabbing death of a Manchester man, police said.

MANCHESTER, CT — A 56-year-old Hartford resident has been charged with murder in connection with a weekend stabbing incident in Manchester, police said.

The stabbing took place at 11:57 Saturday morning at 21 Carver Lane.

Police arrived at the scene after a 911 call and discovered 68-year-old Robert Callahan of Manchester at the property with a stab wound in his chest, according to an incident report. Officers immediately began medical aid and Callahan was quickly transported to Hartford Hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries, according to a police report.

The suspect was reported to have fled in a vehicle.

Detectives then identified the suspect as 56 year old Garry Ramsey of Hartford. An arrest warrant was secured and, early Monday morning, Ramsey surrendered at the Manchester Police Department, according to an incident report.

He was charged with murder and carrying a dangerous weapon, police said.

Ramsey was being held on a $1 million bond and was to appear in court Monday, police said.
