HARTFORD COUNTY, CT — Nine Hartford County towns cracked the top 40 in terms of Connecticut towns with the most vacant homes within their borders.
The real estate service site Sundae.com collected data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey Five-Year Estimates, released on Dec. 10, for the years 2015-2019, to compile a list of cities with the most vacant homes.
The list is ranked by the percentage of vacant homes out of all housing units in the city, and ties are broken by the total number of vacant homes. Only cities with at least 5,000 housing units were considered.
