Community Rallying To Help Mountain Biker Hurt On Case Mountain
A fundraising effort is under way to assist a mountain biker from Glastonbury hurt in a crash on Case Mountain in Manchester.

MANCHESTER, CT — The community is rallying to support a mountain biker hurt in a Monday accident on Case Mountain in Manchester.
A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Steve Lakose with medical expenses. Click here to access the account. As of Friday morning, $12,435 had been raised on a goal of $20,000.
Lakose, an experienced cyclist, suffered multiple serious injuries, according to authorities.
"Early prognosis sounds promising. However, he has a very long road to recovery ahead of him," according to fund-raiser organizers.
The accident on Case Mountain took place at about 6 p.m. Sunday.

According to emergency communication channels, the crash took place near top of the mountain off the Blue Trail.
Fire officials said Lakose was on a mountain bike and had to be rescued with serious injuries.
Life Star helicopter was requested but, was unavailable due to weather, fire officials said.

Lakose lives in Glastonbury and works at Pratt & Whitney, friend said.
