Dick's Moving Across Buckland Hills To The Plaza At Burr Corners
Dick's Sporting Goods is moving its Manchester store from a mall to a strip plaza.

MANCHESTER, CT — As one major tenant is leaving the Plaza at Burr Corners in Manchester an even larger one is taking its place from less than 2 miles away.
The owners of the plaza confirmed Monday that Dick'S Sporting Goods is relocating from the Shoppes at Buckland Hills mall to the vacancy being left by Pilgrim furniture and the existing Planet Fitness vacancy.
The mall, located at 194 Buckland Hills Drive, and the plaza, located at 1131 Tolland Turnpike are one-and-a-half miles apart.

"There was a lot of opportunity when Dick's approached us," Silvera said. "We were very interposed in making that deal. and I think Burr Corners is a good place for the store. We're certainly happy about it."
The combined Pilgrim-Planet Fitness space totals 55,000 square feet, Silvera said.
Silvera said plans for converting the space to a Dicks are nearly complete so the project can go through the local regulatory process.
He said the target to open Dick's new location is the end off 2021.
The Buckland Dick's has been bustling since the start of the spring sports season, but even before that, the business was doing well. In March, the sporting goods giant reported year-to-date revenue growth of 19.8 percent.
Its first-quarter earning report is due to come out May 26.
