Downtown Manchester Safe Trick-Or-Treat and Scarecrow Contest Winners Announced Saturday
The Scarecrow Contest Awards Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., by the Dancing Bear's Fountain in Center Memorial Park next to the Mary Cheney library, 586 Main St.

The 5th Annual Downtown Manchester Scarecrow Contest Awards Ceremony and Halloween Happenings – A Safe Downtown Manchester Trick-or-Treat will take place on Saturday, October 26th.
The Scarecrow Contest Awards Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m., by the Dancing Bear’s Fountain in Center Memorial Park next to the Mary Cheney library, 586 Main St. “People’s Choice” and “ Facebook Favorite” award winners will be announced.
The following activities will take place on Saturday as a part of the annual Halloween Happenings – A Safe Downtown Manchester Trick-or-Treat:

- Chalk the Walk at Center Park from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Center Park. All ages create chalk drawings on the Center Park sidewalks. Just for fun! Chalk provided. Hosted by the Manchester Arts Commission.
- Pumpkin Themed Story Time for all ages from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Mary Cheney Library, 586 Main St. Manchester - 860-645-0577.
- Children’s Pumpkin Decorating from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – at the Manchester Antique Mall, 811 Main St. Sponsored by the Manchester Antiques Mall. Children will be able to decorate small pumpkins.
- A Safe Children’s Downtown Trick-or-Treat from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. throughout the Downtown. Children may visit Downtown businesses displaying a “Welcome Trick-or-Treaters” sign and receive assorted treats.
- The spirit of the Downtown Trick-or-Treat will be captured with a large group photo of trick-or-treaters to be taken in Center Memorial Park by John Garaventa of Garaventa Photography. The photo will be taken at 1 p.m., at the conclusion of the Trick-or-Treat.
- The Children’s Costume Parade will march –off from Center Park at 1:20 p.m., immediately following the Trick-or-Treat and Group Photo, ending at Bennet Academy. A Chevy Silverado Pick-up Truck, courtesy of Carter of Manchester, will lead the Parade carrying costumed Parade Marshals: The Downtown Witch, Scarecrow and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.
All activities are rain or shine except chalk drawing, photo and parade.
The Downtown Manchester Scarecrow Festival and Halloween Happenings – A Safe Downtown Manchester Trick-or-Treat are both sponsored by the Downtown Manchester Special Services District with the help of Crimson Art Box.
