First Responder Parade Salutes Manchester Manor Nurses, Staff
With COVID Easing, Manchester Police, Fire Personnel Take Part in Celebratory Procession as Part of National Skilled Nursing Care Week
It was lights, sirens and cheers on Tuesday, May 11, as local fire and police personnel took time out of their busy days to take part in a First Responder "Thank You Parade" to salute the nurses and staffs of Manchester Manor Health Care Center and the adjoining Arbors of Hop Brook Life Plan Retirement Community. The event marked the second consecutive year that the parade took place as part of National Skilled Nursing Care Week, offering both local First Responders and health care center and retirement community staff the opportunity to pat each other on the back for a job well done following a long year of COVID-19.
A twin event took place at the same time at Vernon Manor Health Care Center.
“There is just so much gratitude for our staff, as well as for Manchester and Vernon’s large corps of First Responders,” said Brian Liistro, Managing Partner of Manchester Manor, Arbors of Hop Brook and Vernon Manor. “They have all endured so much during this pandemic, and been steadfast, committed and dependable throughout. With light at the end of the tunnel, this was a great time to thank them, and for them to thank each other, for all they do."

Added Manchester Acting Fire Chief Dan French, “We have an opportunity to be at Manchester Manor and The Arbors relatively frequently and know the staffs there well. Having an opportunity like this to honor and celebrate the people we help and the people we work with in our community every day is very satisfying for us,” said French.
