Large Scale Storm May Impact CT's Thanksgiving Weather Forecast

The National Weather Service also says Connecticut may see some snowflakes this weekend. Here are the new, updated details for CT.

CONNECTICUT — We all know Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving is the biggest travel day of the year and there is concern over a large storm and what impact it will have on Connecticut.

NBC Connecticut Chief Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan posted on social media that there is a "relatively large storm approaching" but it appears the precipitation would be rain and not snow. Portions of the midwest could get buried in snow next week, but the temps are forecast to be in the low 50s on Wednesday and upper 40s on Thanksgiving in Connecticut.

The Weather Channel says rain is in the forecast for both Wednesday, Nov. 27 and Thanksgiving Day in Connecticut due to the expected storm next week.

Accuweather.com says there are still a lot of questions concerning when the storm would get to the northeast but there is a chance we could see stormy weather just before Thanksgiving.

"Should the major storm next week move faster, heavy rain, gusty winds and poor visibility could hit travel hard in the Southeast and the Northeast during the day and night before Thanksgiving," Accuweather.com says.

Short Term Weather Forecast

Today isn't great with some light rain showers and temps only around 40 degrees but Thursday and Friday look amazing with sunshine and temps into the 50s.

Stormy Weekend Forecast and Maybe Snowflakes?

The National Weather Service says during the day on Saturday will be dry and temps into the mid 40 but showers arrive Saturday night. It's possible some snow will mix in, especially away from the coast.

On Sunday, there will be a chance for a mix of snow and rain early and then a change to all rain is expected in Connecticut, except for Litchfield County, which may see more wintry than wet weather.
