MANCHESTER, CT — A state representative from Manchester has been named to a significant leadership position.

House Majority Leader Jason Rojas (D-East Hartford) announced Thursday that he has named Rep. Geoff Luxenberg (D-Manchester) Deputy Majority Leader. Luxenberg represents Manchester's 12th district.

"Representative Luxenberg is a diligent and hardworking legislator who is assertive and principled in standing up for the issues he is an expert on and that he cares deeply about," Rojas said. "Being in leadership requires you to familiarize yourself with the breadth of policy issues we confront, and I am grateful to have him on our leadership team. He will play a vital role in engaging with caucus members as we debate difficult issues in the year ahead."
