Man Calls In Shooting To Manchester Police — On Way To Hospital

Manchester police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting.

MANCHESTER, CT — A man told Manchester police he was on his way to a local hospital Wednesday night after being shot.

The call came in at 11:15 p.m., police said. A man said he had been the the victim of a shooting and was heading to Manchester Memorial Hospital. Officers then found the 43-year-old with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen in the emergency room, police said.

The man said he was shot in the area of North Street and told police the shooter fled the area in a dark-colored sedan, according to police.

The man was unable to describe the shooter, police said.

The man was transferred to Hartford Hospital as was in serious condition Thursday morning, police said.

Police said they have "limited information" in the case and no witnesses have come forward.
