Annually, the Town of Manchester Human Services Department coordinates a Back-to-School program for Manchester youth in grades K-12.

With the ongoing support of donors and partners, this program regularly serves hundreds of children with backpacks and school supplies that they’ll need in order to have a successful start to their school year.
Despite being in the midst of a pandemic, economic turmoil, and with uncertain times ahead, the Manchester community has once again pulled together in support of our children. The Human Services Department is pleased to announce that through the generosity of residents, businesses, and community partners we received over $7,000 in supplies and donations for this year’s program.
These funds will be used for our revised program, in which we will distribute gift cards to eligible families so that they can purchase school supplies that best meet the needs of their school-aged children.
The Manchester Human Services Department would like to take this opportunity to thank the numerous donors, supporters, and long term partners who contributed. We would also like to specifically thank our long term partner and supporter, Faith Tabernacle, whose efforts normally generate hundreds of backpacks, and this year, resulted in thousands of dollars in donations. The outpouring of support speaks volumes about our town and we are pleased to be a part of such a caring community.
