Manchester High School Going To Remote Learning Through Break
Manchester High School students will be learning at home through the Turkey Day break.

MANCHESTER — Manchester High School is moving to a to a full remote learning model leading up to the Thanksgiving break as the town sits mired in red coronavirus status, education officials announced Tuesday.
Full remote will be in effect thr0ugh Nov. 25, officials said.
In the full remote model, students will follow the same schedule as the hybrid model except students are online with teachers at the times they would have been at Manchester High School, officials said.

The hybrid model will begin again after the Thanksgiving break on Nov. 30, officials said.
In the latest state reporting period through Nov. 7, Manchester is showing a positive coronavirus test rate of 18.6 per 100,000 people. A rate of 15 per 100,000 puts a town in red status with tightened restrictions.

Due to the number of staff in self-quarantine as a result of the cases from the past two weeks, school officials have been unable to secure coverage for several classes at Manchester High School, Superintendent of School Matt Geary said.
Manchester is not the worst by far. Bridgeport, Meriden and Danbury have the highest respective rates at 53.2, 52.3 and 49.9.
