Manchester Obituary: Roderick Wright, 79
Rod's loves in life included the Boston Red Sox and dreaming of and planning his travels each year.

Roderick Arnold Wright, 79, of Manchester, husband to the late Peggy (Phelon) Wright, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Hartford.
Roderick was born in Manchester on June 1, 1939 to the late Russell A. and Ruth B. (Fisher) Wright and has been a lifelong Manchester resident. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Manchester High School, Class of 1957. In his younger years, he was involved with the Manchester Jaycees. He was also a member of the South Windsor Band as a clarinet player and Second Congregational Church in Manchester.
Roderick was quite the salesman working for companies like John Hancock insurance, Sceli Electronics and Kmart. His loves in life included the Boston Red Sox and dreaming of and planning his travels each year.

Roderick is survived by his son, Donald Wright and his wife Janet of McLeansville, NC and his daughter Robin Bucki and her husband Francis of East Hartford; his grandchildren Patrick Bucki, Jenna Bucki, Virginia Wright and Katie Wright; his two brothers Rev. Robert A. Wright of Massachusetts and Russell A. Wright of California as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his good friends Richard and Joan Bohadick.
A time of visitation for Roderick will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 from 4:30 pm-5:30 pm at Holmes-Watkins Funeral Home, 400 Main St, Manchester, with a service to begin at 5:30 pm. Inurnment will be in East Cemetery, Manchester at the convenience of his family.
