Manchester Officials Discouraging Use Of Road Race Course In 2020
Municipal officials in Manchester are discouraging the use of the actual Manchester Road Race course in 2020 as the event has gone virtual.

MANCHESTER, CT — Municipal officials are asking those participating in the 2020 virtual edition of the Manchester Road Race not to run in large groups on Thanksgiving Day or during the week leading up the the holiday.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the race was changed to an online, virtual event. Runners will be completing the "race" on their own with a special application.
The traditional, 4.748-mile race route will not be closed to traffic at any time during Thanksgiving

"Please choose another safe running route," town officials said.

Town officials have offered up some alternatives:
- Charter Oak Park (Entry to the East Coast Greenway) - Charter Oak Street
- Center Springs Walking Path - 39 Lodge Drive
- Case Mountain - 640 Spring Street
- Cheney Rail Trail - 39 Lodge Drive
- Cricket Field Perimeter Path - Robertson Park
