Manchester Permanent Memorial Day Committee Outlines Activities
Wreaths and flags will be placed at Manchester's service memorials.

MANCHESTER, CT — Wreaths and flags will be placed at Manchester's service memorials, even though the traditional Memorial Day Parade has ben called off.
Here is a summary from the Manchester Permanent Memorial Day Committee:
The Manchester Permanent Memorial Day Committee voted to cancel the 2020 Memorial Day Parade and Associated Event Activities in order to protect the safety of everyone involved due to Covid-19, and the uncertainty that goes with it. The Town General Manager, the Mayor, and the Board of Directors were notified of the recommendation.
The Committee will still be placing flags, wreaths, and rendering honors at the monuments in Manchester, as this can be safely done with a small group.
This was a difficult decision for us to make. This is one of a few times in many decades of supporting this parade and program of events where we will all miss this opportunity to honor our deceased veterans who gave their last full measure of devotion.
