Manchester Police Officers Promoted
Three officers were sworn in to new ranks on Monday.

On Monday, three veteran Manchester police officers were officially promoted and sworn in to new ranks.
Lt. Anthony Palombizio was hired on Oct. 22, 2000. During his career, Palombizio has served as a patrol officer, as well as serving in the East Central Narcotics Unit. In 2008, Palombizio was promoted to patrol sergeant, and then in 2010, was assigned as the East Central Narcotics Unit sergeant.

Palombizio has received the Distinguished Service Award, two Distinguished Service Unit Citations, Exceptional Service, The Meritorious Service Award, as well as the Town of Vernon Police Chief’s Citation for work done while in the East Central Narcotics Unit.
Additionally he has several letters of commendation. He earned a Bachelor of Science criminal justice degree from Methodist College in 1996.

Palombizio is currently the midnight shift commander.

Sgt. David Roy was hired on Oct. 17, 2007. Roy started as a patrol officer, before serving as the department’s Firearms and Training Officer since 2013.
In his spare time, Roy volunteers helping to teach martial arts to kids in the PAL (Police Activities League).
Roy also serves in the National Guard.
Detective Shawn Krom started his career at the Manchester Police Department on June 29, 2008. Krom has served as a patrol officer, and member of the East Central Narcotics Taskforce. He has also been a member of the CREST tactical team since 2013.
He has received the Distinguished Service Unit Citation, as well as the Meritorious Service Unit Citation.
Krom has a Bachelor of Science Degree in justice and law administration from Western Connecticut State University.
While all three individuals were officially sworn in Monday, a formal ceremony recognizing their promotions will be held in the coming weeks.
