MCC’s graphic design curriculum incorporates professional-level software to train students on the same technology they will be using in the workplace. While learning design concepts, aesthetics, terminology and vocabulary, students will gain a combination of computer skills as well as traditional art and creative skills. In addition, they have the opportunity to take part in co-op placements where they can pick up real-world experience along with academic credits.

Prospective students do not need to submit a portfolio for review to enroll in any of these programs.
A few examples of career opportunities that these programs can help launch an MCC graduate into are art director, brand manager, illustrator, production artist, social media designer, typographer, UI/UX designer and web designer. Many of the technician-level jobs in these areas are among the state’s fastest growing occupations requiring an associate degree, according to the Connecticut Department of Labor.
