“This is a movement to redesign the way in which we provide care,” said Director of Media Relations Rebecca Stewart. “We are creating a seamless path for our patients - bringing the highest quality care closer to home. People won’t have to travel far for our expertise. Hartford HealthCare’s membership in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance means this new center would make the highest quality cancer care more accessible in the Manchester region. Over the course of the next 50 years, the facts show that one out of every two people will be diagnosed with cancer and we are committed to being here and taking care of them.”

The three-story structure will be built on 1.47 acres of vacant land at 376 Tolland Tpke. and on the 0.76-acre site of the neighboring India Kitchen, a vacant restaurant that will be demolished.
A traffic engineer found that the added traffic from the new building will have an “insignificant impact” on nearby intersections, including Deming Street and Tolland Turnpike.
