New Map Illustrates Impact Of Car Burglaries In Manchester

MANCHESTER, CT — Manchester police Tuesday released a map illustrating how widespread car burglaries have been throughout the town.

Incidents have been frequent for about the past three years.

Though the heaviest concentration is on the center and western portions of Manchester, the map shows that every area of town has been affected in some way.

Police also reiterated their pleas for residents to lock their vehicles and remove valuables. Many times, the thieves are looking for unlocked vehicles.

"MPD continues to investigate motor vehicle burglaries and motor vehicle thefts occurring in our town," police said in a statement accompanying the map. "You can assist us in preventing these crimes by always locking your cars, taking your keys, and removing belongings from your vehicles"
