Obituary: William A. Sweet

William A. Sweet age 78 of Vero Beach Fla. passed away at the Indian River Medical Center on Tuesday May 8th 2018 after a battle with cancer.

Bill was born in Pawtucket R.I. to the late Albert and Barbra Sweet. Bill was a resident of Manchester Ct. for most of his life, raising a family here and working as a firefighter in town for 31 years for the Local 1579 I.A.F.F. before retiring and moving to Vero Beach. He was an avid motorcycle rider who took 3 trips to Florida on his motorcycle, one of his trips he rode for 12 hrs putting on over 990 miles in one day. Bill was creative, he liked to work in his garage and make things. He attended and graduated from UConn while working full time. After retiring, he moved to Florida where he made a lot of new friends by volunteering for community activities and just being Bill. He enjoyed going to the beach and surf casting, he loved caring for his mango trees and pineapples.

He will be missed by family many friends. He is leaves 1 son Stacey and his wife Donna and a granddaughter Courtney of Manchester. His cousins Ron and Lucille Barrett of Florida, cousins Carol Colby and Yvette Jette and his sister Lori Guillard and her husband Carl.
