'Pete the Cat' Coming to Cheney Hall

A rockin' musical based on the best-selling Pete the Cat book series!

PETE THE CAT COMING TO CHENEY HALL

The Little Theatre of Manchester will present PETE THE CAT, a TheaterWorksUSA Production, on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. For Children in grades Pre-K through grade 3, PETE THE CAT: THE MUSICAL is based on the Pete the Cat series of books by Kimberly and James Dean.

For Pete the Cat, life is an adventure no matter where you wind up. So the minute the groovy blue cat meets The Biddles, he gets the whole family rocking. That is, except for young Jimmy Biddle, the most organized second grader on planet Earth. But when Jimmy draws a blank in art class during the last week of school, it turns out Pete is the perfect pal to help him out. Together, they set out on a mission to help Jimmy conquer second-grade art, and along the way, they both learn a little something new about inspiration. Join Jimmy and Pete on an adventure of friendship, all the way to Paris and back in a VW Bus!

With book and lyrics by Sarah Hammond, PETE THE CAT began its U.S. tour with Theatreworks USA in fall of 2016 and will hit the OCT stage starting in January. During its run in New York at The Lucille Lortel Theater, The New York Times called it “…a high-energy, irrepressibly cheerful whirl.” The show’s catchy music is by award-winning composer, Will Aronson. “[The music] makes you laugh while being so groovy,” said Dwayne Harris, Little Theatre of Manchester’s Executive Director. “It's a really smart score that makes you want to act silly.”
