A 55-year old Berlin man is in custody after police say he posed as an undercover Manchester police officer working "vice stings" and accosted a woman Friday.
According to police, Frank Mete, 55, of 31 Concord Rd., Berlin, posed as an undercover officer for the purposes of accosting a woman Friday.
Mete was charged with multiple counts of first-degree sexual assault, first-degree robbery, unlawful restraint, sixth-degree larceny and impersonating a police officer. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Police said investigations for similar assaults are being conducted in surrounding towns and asked anyone with information to call 860-645-5510.
