Readers Remember Long-Lost Manchester And Area Eateries
Patch asked Local readers to tell us their favorite childhood restaurants which are now gone, and we were overwhelmed with responses.

MANCHESTER, CT — The Taccoral ... Dairy Queen ... The Islander ... those are just some of the responses to a callout on the Manchester Patch Facebook page asking readers to "name a restaurant from your childhood that isn't around anymore."
The Taccoral was famous for its Tex-Mex comfort food and the BYOB policy and the DQ was right by Manchester Community College so that made it extra popular. The Islander? Well, it was an old journalists watering hole that also satisfied the munchies.
