If you're a recent college graduate, living in the Metro Hartford Area - which includes Manchester - happens to be a very good place to find work, at least according to The Atlantic.

In a piece called “The Best U.S. Metros for Recent College Grads Looking for Work,” the Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford area ranked 7th out of the top 50 metros in the nation. The Atlantic said that there were 5,039 estimated job openings in the area in 2013, with median hourly earnings of $32.45.

The study also came up with a metric called the “location quotient,” which was supposed to balance large metro areas with smaller ones.

San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, CA ranked first, with 9,927 estimated job openings in 2013 with median hourly earnings of $47.27.
