Sephora to Sell Beauty Products in JCPenney: Grand Opening on May 1

A “Sephora Inside JCPenney” store-within-a-store is opening at the Shoppes at Buckland Hills mall, with a grand opening on Friday, May 1, including some special offerings for beauty-products customers.

The first hundred customers to walk in the 2,600-square-foot “store” set in the center of JCPenney can get one of the 100 ”mystery” gift cards on hand, some of which have values as high as $100 (the announcement from the two stores didn’t say how many would have values that high). The store opens at 10 a.m.

The store will also hand out 750 gift bags with free samples. Sephora sells its own brands and will offer 50 other brands of makeup, skincare, fragrance, bath and beauty accessory products. It has a line of men’s products as well as women’s.

The brands to be sold at the store include “makeup lines such as BITE Beauty, Cover FX, Make Up For Ever, NARS, Smashbox and Urban Decay, [...] skincare lines including Kate Somerville, Marula, Murad, Ole Henriksen, Peter Thomas Roth, Philosophy, Shiseido, Supergoop and Vita Liberata, as well as fragrance offerings from brands such as Dior, Dolce and Gabbana, Elizabeth and James Nirvana, Gucci and Marc Jacobs,” according to the announcement from JCPenney and Sephora.

Customers “are encouraged to touch, play and try everything from lip glosses to blushes, skincare to fragrance,” the announcement said.

The Sephora store, according to the announcement, also offers “a 15 Minute Mini Makeover at the Sephora Beauty Studio from makeup and skincare experts who are available to help you master a new beauty look in minutes. Complimentary services offered include: Smoky Eye, Contour, Polished Brows, Treat + Conceal, Flawless Foundation + COLOR IQ, Blush + Bronze, Essential Eyeliner, Perfect Lips, and Everyday Eye.”

Sephora also offers a “Sephora + Pantone Color IQ” service to help you pick a foundation makeup. You can stop by at any time to get a scan of the surface of your skin, which will determine “an official Pantone SkinTone number and match a scientifically precise foundation shade from Sephora’s selection of 500+ foundations.”

The JCPenney store in the Shoppes at Buckland Hills mall is located at 344 V Buckland Hills Dr. and is open Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
