Strong Winds Topple Tree onto Room of House in Manchester
Children normally would have been in that room, but they happened to be playing elsewhere, according to NBC Connecticut.

Update, 7:11 a.m., Thursday:
Heavy winds late Wednesday afternoon caused a tree to crash into a second-floor room of a house at 71 Delmont St. in Manchester, in a room where children normally would be, a parent said, according to NBC Connecticut.
The trunk of the tree was severed, and a two-foot hole was created in the house, the television station reported. Firefighters were called to the scene at 5:15 p.m.

Wendy Silver told the TV station that normally her nephew would be in that room, but that afternoon he was playing video games downstairs with other children. Normally they’d be playing in the upstairs room, she said. The house has been declared uninhabitable.

Strong winds from Wednesday night’s storm caused a tree to fall on a house at 71 Delmont St. in Manchester, according to Manchester Fire Department, NBC Connecticut reported.
Firefighters were called to the scene at 5:15 p.m. It was unclear if anyone was hurt, and the extent of damage was not known.
