Wind Advisory Issued For Northern Connecticut On Monday/Tuesday

HARTFORD/TOLLAND/WINDHAM, CT — A wind advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Tuesday, the National Weather Service said.

Winds of 15-25 mph are expected and some gusts could reach 50 mph.

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects," the weather service cautions. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result....The strong winds combined with cold temperatures early Tuesday morning will produce wind chills of zero to 10 below, and as low as 15 below zero in the Berkshires."

A chance of showers before 7pm, then rain likely, mainly after 8pm. Cloudy, with a low around 37. Southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming light and variable after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Rain likely, mainly before 11am. Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Light and variable wind becoming northwest 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

A slight chance of snow showers between midnight and 3am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 14. Wind chill values as low as -1. Northwest wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 46 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
