Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Hartford, Tolland County

Despite spring-like weather, the National Weather Service says winter is about to return very quickly.

Despite temps near 60 degrees today and the fact it feels like spring weather outside, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Hartford, Tolland and Windham counties beginning 7 p.m. Wednesday through 10 a.m. Thursday.

The main concern is freezing rain. No snow is expected to accumulate. "Total ice accumulations of up to two tenths of an inch possible."

"Icing for a combination of some sleet but mostly freezing rain is forecast. Likely impacts to the Thursday morning commute. Untreated surfaces will become slick making for hazardous travel," the weather service says.
