Woman Sends Warning After Buying Seriously Sick Dog

A woman was told a dog was not sick by a shelter and it was, according to a report.

MANCHESTER, CT — A local woman who had to put a puppy down because of a serious disease told Fox61she is warning others about the shelter she bought it from.

The woman told Fox61she became attached to the dog, even though something seemed wrong. She accused shelter staffers of telling her a visit to a local veterinarian was not necessary.

The woman told Fox61 she went anyway the dog was diagnosed with distemper. The owner of the shelter was charged criminally, according to the report.
