1 Firefighter Injured, 7 Displaced In Major Milford Fire

A second alarm fire was reported in Milford on Saturday evening.

MILFORD, CT — One firefighter was injured and seven residents were displaced during a second alarm fire Saturday evening in Milford.

Milford's Emergency Communications Center received numerous 911 telephone calls reporting a large fire at 315 Foxwood Lane, officials said. Fire crews arrived in less than 6 minutes to find a heavy volume of fire in the rear of 315 Foxwood Lane, officials said.

Fire Department personnel worked to confine and extinguish the fire while others searched for occupants in the structure. All individuals had been removed prior to the arrival of fire department units.

Both West Haven and Stratford Fire departments assisted with station coverage during the fire.

One firefighter received second-degree burns to his hand and shoulder and was treated and transported to Bridgeport Hospital and has been released.

A total of seven residents were displaced by the fire and were being assisted by the Red Cross for supplemental housing. The fire is currently under investigation by members of the Milford Fire Department Fire Investigation unit.
