342-Unit Apartment Complex Proposal to Get Public Hearing in Milford: Report

The public hearing is scheduled for May 17.

MILFORD, CT — Grillo Services is moving forward with its plans to construct a 342-unit apartment complex that includes 512 parking spaces at 553 West Avenue, the Milford Mirror reports.

An Inland Wetlands public hearing will be held 7:30 p.m. May 17 in the Board of Education meeting room at the Parsons Government Center. The project received approval in 2016 from the Inland Wetlands Agency but the Fire Department asked for a modification, which is why there is a new hearing.

If the modified plans are also approved, the project would still need Planning and Zoning approval before it could become reality. Wetland officials have praised the project saying it would improve water quality on the site. Part of the prior approval included relocating the box turtles living on the site. The land is currently owned by Kingdom Life Christian Church.
