The 35,000 oysters and clams, along with other varieties of foods and beverages, are available in two different locations at the event: Fowler Field, which is directly behind the library, and at Lisman Landing Harbor Stage, according to the event’s website. There will be 19 varieties of oysters coming from 8 states along the east coast.
“Several varieties of oysters will be sold at the Festival, representing some of the most prominent oyster growers on the east coast,” the event’s website says. “Eat one or eat a coupla’ dozen. Enjoy oysters both salty and sweet, grown from Maine to Virginia.”
Many of the oyster growers will be present at the Festival, according to the event’s website.
Oyster Eve 2015, a pre-festival tradition, will be held at the Lisman Landing and Downtown Shops on Friday from 6 to 10 p.m.
