MILFORD, CT — A Hamden man is being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond after he was found in possession of an assault rifle, a semi-automatic pistol, and four high capacity magazines, Milford police said.

On Feb. 4, police officer Kevin Hilliard responded to the Red Roof Inn at 10 Rowe Ave. to assist the state Department of Corrections Fugitive Unit in locating Tijun Mims, 26, of Benham Street, police said.

Mims was wanted by the department of correction for absconding from parole, police said. Police said they received a search warrant and were able to seize the guns and Mims was charged on a warrant this week.
