CT Weather: Cold, Wet Memorial Day Weekend Expected

Connecticut's top meteorologists are forecasting a cold and wet holiday weekend. Here are the specific details on the "ugly" forecast.

CONNECTICUT — 'Ugly' is the word WTNH News 8 chief meteorologist Gil Simmons used to sum up the Memorial Day weekend weather forecast.

It appears rain begins on Friday afternoon and continues into Saturday morning and returns again on Sunday. Memorial Day may also feature some rain showers in the morning before we begin to dry out. Besides the rain, it definitely won't feel like the unofficial start of summer. Temperatures will struggle to reach 60 degrees this weekend.

"Rain coming in tomorrow night and it will be heavy at times!," Simmons wrote on his social media. "The rain will likely drag on for Saturday morning before a little bit of drying Saturday afternoon but it will be chilly! Rain coming back on Sunday unfortunately!"
