CT Weather: Tropical Storm Elsa's Impacts To State Increasing
The National Weather Service has also issued a severe thunderstorm watch up until 11 p.m. Wednesday.
CONNECTICUT — The weather will be excessively hot once again on Wednesday, and like Tuesday, there is a chance for strong-to-severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the entire state up until 11 p.m.
But all eyes are on Tropical Storm Elsa, which is expected to impact Connecticut's weather forecast beginning Thursday night and lasting through Friday.
WTNH News 8 chief meteorologist Gil Simmons said in a social media post that "the impacts are looking more as more" as Elsa is now forecast to track closer to Connecticut. Again, we know these things can change quickly. If Elsa tracks closer to Connecticut, it means strong wind gusts and heavy rain for us, along with significant storm surge.
