Devon Rotary Awards Scholarships to Local High School Graduates

$23,500 given out to 18 exceptional seniors

Devon Rotary Club, through its charitable foundation, recently awarded scholarships with a total value of $23,500 to 18 exceptional Milford high school students, in recognition of their academic achievement, and their service to their school and the community at large.

The winners are selected by a committee of foundation members. Scholarships were made possible thanks to donations from individual club members or other individuals, plus matches from the foundation

(From Jonathan Law): Tasbita Ahmed, $500, Harborview Electric Tools of the Trade Award; Caroline Chesson, $1,000, Steven G. Memorial Scholarship, Kate Linn, $1000, Paul Austin Scholarship; Rohin Manohar, $1,000, CT Shoreline Rotaract Club Scholarship; Simon Luke McDonald, $1,000, Bridge House Foundation Scholarship; Amelia G. Mower, $1,000, Daniel and Roma Moger Memorial Scholarship and Jay Rajini, $1,000, Milford Arts Council Endowment Art Student Scholarship

(From Foran): Kayla Jurzyk, $1000 (renewable annually for four years), Joyce G Memorial Scholarship; Isabella McPadden, $1,000, Barbara Burwell Gaynor Memorial Scholarship; Isabel Messore, $1,000, John D. Gaynor Memorial Scholarship; Dana Parrott, $1,000, The Stanford Family Scholarship and Lily Smith, $1,500, Robert Boughton Memorial Scholarship.

(From Platt Tech): Aysia Amoah, $500, Excello Tool Engineering and Manufacturing Tools of the Trade Award; Ryan Debski, $500, William T. Dale Tools of the Trade Award; Ethan R. Feldman, $1,000, Bridge House / Dodie Ireland Memorial Scholarship and Cody Works, $500, TriCity Heating and Cooling Tools of the Trade Award.

Also among the honorees was Jack Finnegan, Fairfield Prep, $2,000, James J. Maroney, Sr. and John D. Malarkey, Sr. Memorial Scholarship, and Carly Weber, Lauralton Hall, $1,000, Milford Arts Council Endowment Art Student Scholarship.
