DUI Driver Left Scene Of Accident: Milford Police

MILFORD, CT — A Maine man is accused of leaving the scene of an accident and driving while under the influence, Milford police said.

On Halloween, police responded to the area Welchs Point Road and Milesfield Avenue on the report of a two car motor vehicle accident where one vehicle left the scene, police said. The accused's vehicle was found in the area of Wilbar Avenue and Gulf Street, police said.

Investigation led to the arrest of Stephen Demo, 55, of South Portland, Maine, who is accused of driving with an elevated blood alcohol content and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.

He is charged with DUI, reckless driving, evading responsibility, and failure to maintain lane.

He was released after posting $1,000 bail and given a court date of Dec. 9 at Superior Court, Milford.
