Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident At Milford Mall Investigated: Police

MILFORD, CT — Milford police are investigating a fatal accident at the Connecticut Post Mall parking lot.

At 11:49 a.m. Monday, police responded to the mall for a motor vehicle accident. A preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling eastbound in the parking lot. The vehicle was traveling at a slow rate of speed when it veered to the right and struck a curb and tree in the lot, police said.

The driver was unresponsive on scene and CPR was performed by a passerby as well as MPD personnel, police said. He was taken to Milford Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver is identified John B. Kane, 56, of Derby, police said. The investigation is still ongoing pending results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, police said.
