Former ShopRite Building In Milford Has A New Tenant: Report

MILFORD, CT — The old ShopRite building at 155 Cherry St. has a new tenant.

G Mart, which is an Asian megamarket, recently opened at the former grocery store site, which moved up the road a few years ago to a much larger building, the New Haven Register reports.

The store includes a wide array of produce, meats, seafood, soy, noodles, tea, spices and much more including desserts, the Register reports.

The market is open from 9 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. seven days a week.

The market is garnering strong early reviews from customers.

"So happy for a Chinese supermarket in southern ct," one person wrote in a review left on Google. "Prices are veggies are great and wild selection. Place is very clean and a lot of space to socially distance from other shoppers."

Another reviewer said, "Great produce! Lots of vegetables that I haven't seen anywhere else locally, and it all looked fantastic. Really nice fish counter too, including live dungeness crab. Impressive amount of fresh noodles and dumpling wrappers, frozen dumplings, snacks and staples."
