Grant Helps Keep Milford Business Baking More Delicious Cupcakes
The new business owner had just signed a lease days before the coronavirus pandemic hit and a new state grant is helping her stay open.

MILFORD, CT — The last time Milford Patch featured Adrianna Robles, 29, and her business, 'Good Morning Cupcake,' in a story it was back in January 2020, and it was much happier times for the small business owner.
She was being featured at the time on the Food Network's then new series, "Girl Scout Championship." For Robles, it was a dream come true as she had tried unsuccessfully at least six times over three years to appear on other Food Network shows. Her perseverance paid off.
But just a few months later the coronavirus pandemic hit and the rest was history.

In an interview with the Milford Mirror, Robles said she planned to open her business in May and had signed a lease agreement on March 1, which meant she was obligated to pay the rent despite never being able to actually open for business.
Sufficed to say it was a very difficult time for Robles and this week it was announced that her business received a state grant, $6,500, which is managed by the Women’s Business Development Council, the Milford Mirror reports.

She's using the money to buy more supplies for her business and she'll begin hosting pastry-decorating classes at her 252 Melba St. business. And if you're not familiar with her business be prepared to feel hungry.

"Good Morning Cupcake offers a variety of miniature desserts that include (but not limited to) cupcakes and cookies while offering gluten free and vegan options," according to her social media page, which includes numerous photos.
